Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi responded to the recent criticism aimed at Lorenzo Pellegrini.

In a press conference at Coverciano today, ahead of Italy’s Nations League match against Israel, Frattesi came to Pellegrini’s defense.

“I feel really sorry for him,” Frattesi stated. “Lorenzo is both a fantastic person and a talented player. I watch Roma’s games, and when he comes here, he can seem like a different individual.”

“I saw him perform exceptionally well against Belgium,” he continued. “A captain like him, who is balanced and considerate of others, is someone you should hold on to tightly.”

“It’s a tough time for him, especially when he has to play in front of 60,000 people booing him. I truly hope he can overcome this situation because he’s a genuinely great person.”
