Yoro: I Want to Be on the Pitch, Fighting for the Club
Leny Yoro has yet to make his first-team debut for Manchester United after his £52m summer move. A pre-season injury has delayed the French teenager’s start, but his recovery is nearing completion.
In an interview with the club’s official site, Yoro expressed his frustration with being sidelined and his eagerness to finally join his teammates on the pitch.
“Honestly, every time I watch the games, I just want to be out there. I know it’s getting closer now, so I’m staying ready. I just want to be on the pitch with the guys, fighting for the club. The fans have been amazing—they always support me and send messages through my injury. They’re excited to see me play, and I hope to give them something special in return.”
Yoro has also bonded well with his teammates, particularly Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo, while also leaning on Andre Onana for support.
“I’m close with everyone, but I spend a lot of time with the younger guys like Kobbie and Amad. I talk a lot with Onana because he speaks French, and Garnacho’s a great guy too. Everyone’s good here—it’s like a family.”
Off the pitch, Yoro enjoys playing NBA video games with Mainoo and watching basketball.
“I like basketball, especially the show of it in America. I’m not a big fan of any team, but I love watching the games.”
Yoro’s return to action is highly anticipated as he prepares to make his mark at Old Trafford.
